Intel six-core chip Dunnington microprocessor


Intel is preparing to introduce a six-core chip called the Intel . This six-core Dunnington microprocessor will use three dual core 45 nanometre Penryn processors with a shared 16MB L3 cache. It will be succeeded by Nehalem micro-architecture, which will support greater than eight cores. The project itself is still under wraps so no word on availability as yet.
